Meanwhile, here are step-by-step instructions…

Step 1

Make the Hamantashen Filling…

Step 2

Use a blender to cream the softened butter.

Slowly add sugar while continuing to blend.

Blend in the egg, milk, and vanilla extract.

Step 3

Use a spoon to fluff the bread flour in its bag.

Spoon the flour into a glass measuring cup.

Mix in the baking powder and salt.

Sift mixture into a medium mixing bowl.

Step 4

Donate to make Queen Esther, the musical a reality!

Step 5

Slowly blend the flour mixture into the creamy buttery sugary goodness o Hamantashen Love!

Step 6

Chill the Hamantashen cookie dough in the refrigerator for 18 minutes.  L’Chaim – to Life!

Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

Step 7

Sift a small amount of flour onto a cutting board.

Flour powder your hands.

Hand roll the chilled flour into a ball.

Use a roll to flatten the Hamantashen cookie dough to about 1/4″ thick.

Step 8

 

Using the open side of a pint mason jar, cut out a circle of Hamantashen cookie dough.

Place a teapoon of filling in the center.

Fold three edges up to create a triangle.

Pinch the ends together.

Step 9

Repeat Step 8 until you can fill a parchment paper lined cookie sheet with unbaked Hamantashen.

BAKE! … for 12 minutes or until the bottom is golden.

Hamantashen Cookies Recipe

  • 1/2 cup softened butter (1 stick)
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups bread flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • A bissel of salt (1/4 teaspoon)
  • Filling (see below)
